Absolute Beginner Classes (new at DCAL!)
Absolute Beginner Pop, Rock and Latin Line Dancing
A semester-based class - choose from three start dates
Line dancing is the no-partner-needed way to get a little light exercise and make new friends! It's the perfect mood-boosting, social,
active indoor hobby. Don't miss this unique opportunity to learn from the basics up in a cheerful, welcoming environment.
No dance experience required. This semester-based experience will help you acquire the skills needed to jump into the next planned
restart of the Easy-ish Monday 10:15 class or the EZ Smooth and Latin Wednesday 11:30 class in the spring.
Learn elements such as vine, rocking chair, jazz square, v-step, lindy, mambo, and box step set within dances done to your favorite
rock, pop, and Latin tunes. All dances will be taught/reviewed, and fully cued.
Semesters are 6 classes long. Please plan to join only on a "start date".
Note: At this time the start dates are awaiting classroom availability. Please check back within a couple of weeks for updates.
Why is this course semester-based while the other Cape Sands Ballroom classes at DCAL are ongoing? The other classes
described below assume that students who wish to join already have some line dance skills. They're lots of fun but can be daunting
for a true beginner. This course is a fun, focused, progressive quick-start way to build basic skills over the period of six weeks
with the goal of enabling transition into "easy-ish" classes described below.
Select one of the 6-class semesters and repeat for an additional 6-class semester only if you wish to review material learned.
Interested in joining? Click on "How to Join" for more information.
Wednesdays 11:30 am - 12:30 pm with your choice of start date to be determined shortly.

Smooth and Latin Line Dancing (formerly known as "Ballroom Line Dancing")
This is an ongoing class. Learn fun dances based on the steps of swing, salsa, merengue, tango, waltz and more, set to melodic,
captivating contemporary and classic tunes. Not a partner dancing course, the framework will be that of typical line dancing.

How to join?

physical and mental exertion is required. For your safety and the safety of your classmates, please email Karen before
